Abstract

The present study, resulting from an ongoing master’s research project, consists of a theoretical exploration of springs as an object of study through a systemic approach. To this end, extensive bibliographic research was conducted in articles, books, dissertations, and theses related to the associated themes. As complex objects that can be studied by various fields of knowledge, the systems approach is particularly relevant to Geography, as it enables a holistic perspective of these structures, identifying and highlighting their relationships and interrelationships with the environment, as well as emphasizing the issues and challenges found in urban environments. Springs embody the complexity of systems in their various manifestations, encompassing aspects of both ecosystems and geosystems.
