albuquerque: journal of history and ethical behavior in research and its dissemination

 

albuquerque: journal of history is a publication committed to the establishment, dissemination and defense of ethical behavior in conducting research, including its dissemination through articles, essays, interviews, reviews and other textual modalities, as well as in all its editorial processes.

albuquerque: journal of history is organized from his/her editors, section editors, editorial board and advisory board, coming from institutions in different regions of Brazil and other parts of the globe. For the publication of the journal, we count on the authors, as well as anonymous reviewers who aim to ensure the relevance of the publication and the quality of the texts that compose it.

Editors, including those in the section, assume the responsibility of accepting and/or rejecting texts received by the journal, considering the importance, originality and adherence of contributions, accumulating efforts to guarantee the quality of the published material, integrity from the collection, the journal's memory. They are also responsible for the dialogue with the councils, with a view to the constant improvement of the magazine, and for the publication of necessary corrections, retractions, errata or apologies. They are also the ones who conduct the submissions, whether those for current or special issues, in order to guarantee confidentiality throughout the process, without any identification of both authors and authors, as well as referees, removing any influence of order staff in the publishing process. In case of suspicion of bad faith, both of the texts already published and those that are in press, the editors / publishers follow the guidelines of COPE (Committee on Publicantion Ethics), giving opportunity to the defense of complaints, all being they were investigated (after all, Albuquerque: journal of history is responsible for keeping all documentation). Finally, it should be noted that editors and publishers act in a transparent and balanced manner in the exercise of their tasks, without discrimination by gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnic and geographical origin, generation, religion or political beliefs, striving for respectful coexistence between those and those that are different.

Authors are expected to submit manuscripts of their own, respecting all intellectual property rights of others; to follow the rules of Albuquerque: journal of history for submission of texts; ensure that the text - or a significant part of it - has not been published or sent in duplicate to another journal; indicate the location (institutional or private) of the documents cited, as well as their archival references; send permission to use, reproduce and publish graphics, maps, diagrams, photographs, etc., whenever necessary; know the rules of the Creative Commons License Attribute BY; notify the journal's editors if they identify significant errors in the publication; send original texts, without plagiarism or self-plagiarism, fraudulent data and other than what is called the “Smallest Publicable Part”; cooperate with the editors in the preparation and publication of errata, addendums, corrections, retractions, when it is necessary.

The appreisers have objectively reviewed/analyzed the manuscripts, avoiding hostile comments, within a reasonable time, as well as maintaining the confidentiality of any information provided by the editors and publishers, without maintaining copies of the manuscripts received, nor using the information received in the review/analysis process for their own benefit or that of others, nor guarantee advantages, nor generate disadvantages or discredited people. Finally, it has been up to the appreisers to report to the editors about any content already published or submitted that is substantially similar to what is under their analysis/review.
