"No malice will be punished"
erotic in the body and on the stage of Ney Matogrosso
Abstract
At a time when Brazil underwent a "transition" between the military dictato rship and a possible redemocratization, characterized in the so called political reopening, authoritarianism showed signs of not cooling on the sphere of behavior, sexuality and eroticism. In this sense, the present article tries to understand the possibilities of transgression to the permanent interdictions mentioned above, especially in the early 1980s, through the analysis of the show Mato Grosso (1982), by the artist Ney Matogrosso. The performances of this show presented marginal individuals from the social field, but conformers of Brazilian archetypes / social identities (Indians, caipiras and scallywag) as articulators of the demands of effervescent marginalized groups and ardent expectations of the nuances of change that the slow dissolution of Caesarism Military glimpsed. The carnivalization of the interdiction was used by Ney Matogrosso as an instrument of expression of the erotic impulses that tended to be suppressed by a permanent repressive morality.Downloads
