This article is the result of research developed in the Final Course Work of the Degree in Rural Education (LEDUC) at the Federal University of Grande Dourados (UFGD). It aims to present the implications of leasing land by peasant-settlers to farmers in the surroundings of the Eldorado II Settlement, in the municipality of Sidrolândia-MS, for the planting of monocultures (soybeans and corn). This reality reflects the scenario of difficulty in obtaining income from the work produced by peasant families in the agrarian reform plots allocated by the Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform (INCRA), as well as representing, in a dialectical way, peasant resistance and subalternity. The methodological procedures involved fieldwork, interviews and photographic records.
