Abstract

Far from being a democratically stable nation, the conflicts that
permeate their trajectory are intrinsically linked to the power struggle in the country and the
foreign interference of different forms and intensities. Most of the time
governed by non-progressive sectors, the rise of Hugo Chávez to the presidency
and the continuity of the government with Nicolás Maduro threatened the interests of the elite
local and international. Owner of the world's largest current oil reserve, the country
currently finds in chaos on the board of global geopolitics, very much in light of
of the clearly nationalistic position in relation to this commoditie that
provided, in the early 2000s, the rise of a class previously forgotten
with regard to income inclusion and distribution policies, confronting the
imperialist interests and deflating real territorial disputes that are now
presented more violent from combat strategies and techniques, now more
silent from what the bibliography understands as hybrid wars from
the rise of far-right groups in some Latin American countries. Our
objective is to discuss the theme Venezuela and its position on the geopolitical board,
we understand that a given subject produces questions and presents itself in a way that
controversy, however, we strive to provoke and present historical elements
geographical aspects that make it possible to read the potentialities, weaknesses and
Contradictions. To achieve the objective, we conducted a survey of
documentary research and constant discussions on topics such as:
geopolitics, imperialism, geopolitical theories, etc.
