TEACHING EXPERIENCE REPORT
on the attempt to elevate the teaching of philosophy by implementing a Philosophical Writing Workshop
Abstract
In view of a strictly personal perspective, this article aims to report the teaching experience from the attempt to implement a Philosophical Writing Workshop in the philosophy course at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS), held in the second semester of 2017. Exploring from the context of the emergence of the idea of the Workshop, to its objectives and the difficulties in its implementation, the present report does not aim only to offer technical data, but also to share the personal impressions built from the project's coordinating teacher throughout this process. Although learning to write is undeniably a necessity for most undergraduate students in philosophy, most of them are not prepared to deal with the effort required in this process. The illusion, on the part of the students, of the existence of quick and miraculous methods leads to the frustration of both the student and the teacher.
