Abstract

In her Essays on the feminine, Marta Nunes da Costa rehearses about an absence in Philosophy and seeks to understand it: the absence of women. In this search, Nunes da Costa meets with specific categories, the same that feminist movements find in other cultural and social spaces, in what refers to women. These are the categories of invisibility; patriarchy; violence and inequality. It is clear that philosophy is not such a distinct field from others, as one would like to suppose, after all it is a space of supposed use of enlightened reason. These are essays that critically rethink and reconstruct our philosophical, social and political heritage and question: why, despite the feminist movements that have achieved recognition for the dignity of women, Are women-philosophers still on the margins of the dominant philosophical discussion?
