RESEARCH STATUS AND TRENDS IN THE PANTANAL: A BIBLIOMETRIC REVIEW
Resumo
The Pantanal, the largest tropical wetland in the world, is known for its biodiversity and ecological services such as water storage and purification, significantly impacting the region's socio-economic life. Recent massive wildfires, exacerbated by climate change, have underscored the need for comprehensive studies. Our research analyzed 926 publications from 1988 to 2024 using Web of Science and VOSviewer, identifying key authors, collaborations, and trends. Environmental Sciences, Ecology, and Zoology are the main research areas, with Brazil as the primary focus. This study offers a thorough overview of scientific work on the Pantanal, highlighting influential researchers and guiding future research directions.
