Abstract

Given the challenge of increasing food production by 70% by 2050 to sustain a projected global population of 9.6 billion people, climate change poses risks of drastically reducing agricultural production in various regions, threatening food security. The study aimed to analyze rural producers' perceptions of climate change. Data collection was conducted through digital and printed questionnaires, and data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics. The results of the descriptive statistics demonstrated that the majority of rural producers perceive climate change as an important global issue and that it is happening due to human action, but do not consider themselves the main causes of climate change. Furthermore, rural producers perceive that the government has a duty to financially support rural producers in adapting to climate change. This study contributes to the literature by providing a detailed view of farmers' perceptions of climate change. It highlights the importance of understanding rural producers' perceptions to create more targeted and effective interventions and policies for the sustainability of food production and resilience in the face of climate change.
