ARqDÉCO: an immersive interface project for heritage enhancement based on the theoretical principles of Emotional Design.
projeto de interface imersiva para valorização patrimonial a partir de princípios teóricos do Design Emocional
Abstract
This article presents the design process developed for the Final Project in Industrial Design at the Federal University of Santa Maria (UFSM). With the aim of enhancing the value of Art Deco public buildings in Santa Maria/RS, the creation of an immersive interface applied to the city's historical center was proposed. The project establishes a route along Avenida Rio Branco, encompassing twelve heritage sites pre-identified by the extension group Mapping Memories (UFN). The initiative seeks to insert these buildings into the urban imaginary, expanding their recognition and appreciation through the theory of Emotional Design. The methodology adopted included a literature review on Emotional Design and user research to understand the causes of local heritage devaluation. The product, an Augmented Reality application, was developed based on Gasparetto's 5 I's methodology (2020), concluding with an evaluation of the proposed design solutions.
