Abstract

Corn (Zea mays L.) is a vegetable of great economic and social importance, due to its great diversity of use, both in human and animal food, and therefore, the number of jobs in the field has been increasing. and in the grain processing industries. Due to the inadequate use of nitrogen fertilization, the adhesion of new technologies is recommended to increase the efficiency of nitrogen application, which is an essential element for agricultural crops. The NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) is an indicator of the intensity of chlorophyll activity in plants. The objective of this work was to monitor the corn crop through the NDVI, and to establish values between different levels of nitrogen fertilization, during the crop cycle. The work was carried out in the municipality of Itaquiraí - MS (Latitude -23° 14' 58.51" S Longitude -54° 11' 52.80" W). The experiment plots were divided into 5 treatments: T1 - control; T2 – 50 kg of N ha-1; T3 – 100 kg of N ha-1; T4 – 150 kg of N ha-1; and T5 – 200 kg kg of N ha-1. To obtain the aerial images, a Drone Phantom 4 Pro was used. The flights were performed at 80 m height. It was observed that the plots with the highest NDVI values corresponded to the treatments with the highest nitrogen contents, however, the NDVI curves were seen that the treatments T3, T4 and T5 are similar. It can be concluded that the increase of N in the soil can influence the NDVI values of agricultural crops, among them, corn.
