DESIGUALDADES DO RACISMO ESTRUTURAL CONTEMPORÂNEO SOB UM OLHAR CRÍTICO

Abstract

This summary provides an overview of “Being Black in Contemporary Brazilian Society: A Critical-Reflective Analysis” with the aim of rethinking the construction of this action, which is based on an abstract concept of racial democracy, allowing the inclusion of all citizens and eradicating the existing structural racism. Racial discrimination is evident throughout the context, with inequalities between whites and blacks. The emancipation of the black population presupposes more than the strictly economic dimension; it involves profound cultural, political and value dimensions. Bibliographical research was carried out, including the collection of articles and books, in the databases of the Google Scholar, Scielo and CAPES journals portal platforms. It was based on Adorno's Critical Theory. Racism operates structurally in the capitalist social formation. Strategically, it functions as a mechanism for defining social places.
