EDUCATION, TECHNOLOGY, AND GENDER DIVERSITY IN MUSEOLOGICAL SPACES
Keywords:
museum education;, gender, museums, representationsAbstract
The research aims to investigate gender diversity in museums through the narrative and representation of objects, paintings, artworks, and cultural assets related to women in educational sectors. In an initial analysis, it describes the patrimonial assets associated with women (both white and non-white) in order to discuss the concepts, categories, and historical approaches used to reference female knowledge and practices in the past and present. After cataloging and analyzing these female heritage assets, the second phase of the research is developed, involving the use of technologies (digital games, booklets, and websites) to teach about Black women to school audiences. Theoretically, the research is based on museum education, gender diversity, and official museum documents such as those from the Brazilian Institute of Museums (IBRAM). The study seeks to identify museums with collections dedicated to women and analyze how they promote gender education through public policies. Thus, the investigation proposes to connect museum institutions and schools through active methodologies and digital technologies. The analysis will be conducted in museums located in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, mainly the José Antônio Pereira Museum and the Tia Eva Community, investigating items that represent female figures and the representation of Black women in memory spaces.
