CONHECIMENTO À SOLTA OU O REI ESTÁ NÚ

NOTAS SOBRE O CONCEITO DE ESCLARECIMENTO EM ADORNO E HORKHEIMER NA DIALÉTICA DO ESCLARECIMENTO

Keywords: Knowledge; Fairy tale; Adorno and Horkheimer.

Abstract

It is intended to weave some reflections that approximate and/or distance the concept of enlightenment/knowledge in the reality of fairy tales. Just as Adorno and Horkheimer (1985) were able, metaphorically, to indicate Ulysses as the prototype of the enlightened subject, we take the boy who announces that O rei está nú! (in Hans Andersen's short story) as the objective action of knowledge that affects a previously unknown reality. However, the same reality is before everyone who does not perceive it or dare not perceive it, except for the one who adds the community's reliability: the boy. Therefore, critical reason, as stated by the aforementioned authors, undertakes to denounce misleading fallacies in society. The search for the truth or part of it is Man's way of liberating himself from his alienated and oppressive condition, which he himself is guilty of. So that we no longer have weavers of lies that usurp our humanity, we must return to the immanent reading of fairy tales for the critique of society.
