Is it fashionable?: analysis of the scientific production on fashion events that promote tourist activity
Abstract
Fashion events are emblematic for tourism, once they increase the flow of visitors, contribute to the image of destinations and favor local trade, being a promising field for scientific research. The present article aimed to analyze the scientific production on fashion events that promote the tourist activity in national and international journals in the period between 2001 and 2021. The research is characterized as exploratory, bibliographic, and qualitative, from a systematic literature review. The data were collected in selected databases, throughout the combination of specific keywords, resulting in six scientific articles, which were analyzed using content analysis. The results indicate a predominance of case studies of qualitative approach, having as study object fashion events executed in a local context. The findings demonstrate the low volume of scientific production from the correlation between fashion events and tourism activity, imposing a limitation in the dissemination of literature on the subject
