A FREUD’S PSYCHOLOGY OF THE INDIVUDUAL AND NIETZSCHE’S APOLLONIAN-DIONYSIAN

Abstract

In this paper we propose an analysis of individual psychology, that is, the psychology of the Freudian primitive father, from the apollonian-dionysian concepts of Nietzsche developed in The Birth of Tragedy. For this, firstly  we analyze the relationship of the young university student Freud with his close friends who were "ardent admirers" of Nietzsche in Vienna, pointing to the impossibility of Freud not knowing Nietzsche’s  first published text. We propose a relation between the individuation principle and the breaking of individuation, the apollinic and the dionysian, in lyric poetry and in tragedy, from The Birth of Tragedy, with the images of the desiderative object and of movement from Project of a Psychology, the unconscious desire/driving force of the dream and the dream itself and, finally, the phases of the constitution of the primitive father´s psychology from Overview of Transference Neuroses.
