A HISTORY OF THE PHILOSOPHY OF PSYCHOANALYSIS IN BELÉM DO PARÁ
interview with Ernani Chaves
Abstract
With almost four decades of productive intellectual activity (numerous published articles, book chapters and books), Ernani Chaves is a prominent Brazilian researcher who works in the tense and fertile field of articulation between philosophy and psychoanalysis. A Master and Doctor of Philosophy, he has focused his efforts on Freud’s translation and on research on problems and authors ranging from Nietzsche and Foucault to Benjamin, Adorno, Freud and Lacan. In this interview, with the fine irony and good humor that are characteristic of him, Ernani Chaves gives us a rich testimony about the moment of formation of research in the philosophy of psychoanalysis in Brazil, its meeting with psychoanalysis and the reception of this research field in Belém do Pará, among other things.
