NIETZSCHE AND THE PHILOSOPHY OF THE TRAGIC

Abstract

The text has the purpose of analyzing Nietzsche's understanding of the tragic in this relationship with the phenomenon of pessimism, understood not in the sense of Schopenhauer's metaphysics, but as pessimism of force, in the sense of being able to say yes to life in its harder and more terrible problems. With this purpose, the text seeks to make, from the analysis of the psychology of the tragic in Nietzsche's thought, the criticism of schopenhauerian negation of the will and the misunderstanding developed by Schopenhauer regarding Kant’s thought of the beautiful, art and concept of disinterest. Further, we also try to show how the tension between Apollo and Dionysus distances itself from the kantian opposition between phenomenon and thing in itself, but also from Hegel's metaphysics of the absolute and its dialectic, pointing first, in a much more essential way, to the phenomenon of drunkenness.
