HEALTH PROMOTION FOR PRE-ADOLESCENTS

Keywords: Public health, Primary prevention, Adolescent, Primary health care

Abstract

This study aims to present the implementation of a physical activity project at school directed to 103 female pre-adolescents aged 10 to 13 years old enrolled in elementary school in six public schools in the city of Campinas/SP in the period between 2017 and 2018.  The practices of Eutonia, Holistic Gymnastics, and Pilates provided improvement in body posture, increased flexibility, reduced back pain, and improved perception of quality of life. Physical activity programs at school are important for the promotion, prevention, and rehabilitation of pre-adolescent girls' health. The expansion of links between the areas of education and health will reduce the difficulties of implementation and development of physical activity in school favoring the expansion of the School Health Program (PSE).
