The old press of Cuiabá (1910-1920)
Abstract
We’ll analyse the case of the newspaper “A cruz”, without a doubt, the most representative of the city, from the cultural point of view. We’ll discuss as much as reading pratice on the newspaper, as of it’s materials and cultural characteristics, such as dimensions, issue, geographic circulation and social reception, of that timid universe of the first half of XX century, in Mato Grosso. It was the newspaper, iit was unquestionable, the principal way of lettered culture of then.
