Abstract

The general objective of this work was to analyze and understand the main challenges and opportunities identified by women, mainly managers in agribusiness, in a municipality in the center-west of Minas Gerais. The methodology consisted of qualitative and descriptive research, carried out through a case study, and to obtain information, a semi-structured questionnaire was applied to 26 women working in agribusiness. Most respondents are women who are married or in a stable relationship, aged 31 to 50, with an average of two children and have completed a technical course or degree. The inclusion of those studied in rural activities took place through family intervention, either through family succession or through marriage. Interpersonal skills were highlighted as the main strengths in leading, with focus and agility in resolving problems and conflicts being the biggest advantage of female leadership. They pointed out as disadvantages in carrying out activities in agribusiness, in the majority, the resistance of men, through gender discrimination, with the majority of those surveyed pointing out that they had already suffered some type of discrimination in the workplace. Despite this, the participants achieved high levels of satisfaction with the topics covered.
