The results show that purchases through PNAE are at a level below that established by the Law, only Amambaí and Antônio João are in compliance. Despite this, PNAE is a program of great relevance for the development of the region, providing income for family farmers, healthy food for students and support for local development since the resources remain in the region. It is also considered, through this work, the existence of an evident possibility for expansion in the acquisition of products from family farming, there is demand and available resources, however, greater organization is required by producers and educational institutions so that both can benefit from the consequent generation of opportunities for the development of the border region.
