SOCIOECONOMIC PROFILE AND SCHOOL DROPOUT OF PROFESSIONAL HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AT IFMS CAMPI NAVIRAÍ: A CASE STUDY

Abstract
This article brings the results of the research that analyzed the socioeconomic profile of Integrated High School students at the IFMS campus Naviraí-MS, in 2018, with the purpose of contributing to the debate on the development of quality public education and promotion of equity. Thus, the objective of this study was to raise the profile of high school students, for this an exploratory and descriptive research was developed that evaluated 200 students, in May 2018, with a sampling error of 5% and a confidence level 95%, the research was through a questionnaire applied on Google Forms. Empirical results show that high school students have ages ranging from 15 to 17 years old 95.46%; they are mostly 57.00% female, 45.30% brown, 91.90% public schooled and 62.80% low-income. As for quota students, 31.40% of respondents said they entered school through social or racial quotas, as for their means of transport, 48.80% use a bicycle to go to school. Data showed indecision when choosing a higher education course, the most cited courses were: Law with 19.79%, Medicine 13.95% and Agronomy 8.14%.
