SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY IN THE SUSTAINABILITY OF BRAZILIAN AGRIBUSINESS
A Case Study of Klabin S/A
Abstract
This study analyzes corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the context of Brazilian agribusiness, focusing on the company Klabin S/A as a case study. To this end, an analysis of the CSR practices adopted by Klabin was carried out, examining annual reports, sustainability documents and other publicly available materials. Agribusiness plays a fundamental role in Brazil's economy, and the integration of sustainable practices is essential to ensure its long-term viability. Klabin S/A, as one of the main companies in the sector, has been the subject of interest due to its social responsibility initiatives. In this study, the company's actions were investigated in areas such as environmental responsibility, social inclusion, corporate governance and community involvement. The company leads in climate change management, establishing goals aligned with global standards and reducing its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions. Furthermore, its holistic approach to social impacts promotes the development of local communities. However, challenges persist, and it is essential to continue improving practices and maintaining ethical and transparent commitments. Klabin's efforts demonstrate that it is possible to reconcile economic growth with environmental preservation and social development, serving as an inspiring model for the sector and beyond.
