INSTITUTIONAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL ASPECTS OF THE BEEF CATTLE GENETIC MARKET IN BRAZIL APPLIED TO ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Abstract
The increase in international demand for animal protein, mainly caused by changes in eating habits and the growth of China's economy, has boosted research and investment in bovine genetics. As a result, research developed methods that created animals with higher meat quality and earlier slaughter, the result of which was an increase in profits in the production chain and, consequently, in the bovine genetics sector. This scenario attracted foreign companies to the Brazilian market. Thus, the objective of the work is to explore the laws relating to the Brazilian competition market, identifying and analyzing which of them have direct implications for the beef cattle genetic market in Brazil, in relation to market concentration, from an institutional perspective. The main results found are that the market share of the Brazilian bovine genetics market also allows companies to expand and although there are market concentration movements, the bovine genetics sector subject to submission to CADE for analysis has not yet been characterized. Artificial intelligence is a tool that can monitor, through prediction, the situation in the sector in relation to market concentration
