Abstract
Accidents at work in the meatpacking sector are a social-economic problem and their numbers have increased as a result of the increase in production, a consequence of the high consumption of meat. Thinking about the problem of occupational accidents in the sector, this research analyzed data on accidents that occurred from 2016 to 2018 in a poultry slaughtering and meat processing company located in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul and proposed a diagnostic model that can support by companies in the sector to deal with the problem listed. Based on the information generated by the diagnosis, it is concluded that the company needs actions to review safety training with the use of knives; updating the job description and job operating instructions evidencing all the tasks to be performed and their security measures; improvements in the work environments in which cargo is transported; and intensification of inspections at punctual times in periods most likely to occur work accidents in the cutting room, evisceration and sanitation sectors.Downloads
