Teacher training in ethnic-racial relations

Abstract

The present essay has as object of research the training of teachers with emphasis on ethnic-racial relations, in order to promote reflection on academic training regarding the preparation of teachers to deal with certain situations present in everyday school since we live in a racist country, because it is necessary that the teacher has knowledge of the subject so that he/she does not repeat acts like these. To develop this research we analyzed the political pedagogical projects of the undergraduate courses in education at the Federal University of Mato Grosso do Sul, from all campuses, with the intention of verifying how many subjects are offered in the area of ethnic-racial relations. In order to understand and reflect on this, it was necessary to understand what educational policy is and analyze the laws L 10639/03 and L 11645/08, which impose the teaching of Afro-Brazilian and indigenous history and culture in the curriculum of elementary and high schools
