THE SOCIAL ISSUE BETWEEN PAST AND PRESENT: Reflections on the film “How much is or is worth per kilo”

REFLEXÕES SOBRE O FILME QUANTO VALE OU É POR QUILO

Abstract

Abstract: The work has as its theme the Brazilian social construction and its reflections on ethnic-racial issues today. The objective is to discuss some issues addressed in the film “How much is or is worth per kilo” through reflections on the political and economic construction in Brazil and its influences on sociability. For this purpose, a bibliographical analysis of three authors was used as a methodology, who discuss the subject from different angles, namely: MUNANGA, Kabengele and SCHWARTZ, Ricardo and FURTADO, Celso. Such authors contribute to historically understand how the Brazilian social formation occurred and what characteristics permeate the particularities of this nation even today. Such authors argue that Brazil, being a colonized country, was shaped by a structure dictated by the central countries and allow us to start from the assumption that the political, social and ideological construction imposed on Brazil is linked to a macro-societal structure that favors the advance of capitalism favoring social inequality. Therefore, it is necessary to look closely at the past in order to understand both our founding bases and think critically about strategies for social changes that allow for a more humanized sociability.
