Perceptions about becoming a teacher: the view of students of a degree in Biological Sciences
A VISÃO DOS ESTUDANTES DE UMA LICENCIATURA EM CIÊNCIAS BIOLÓGICAS
Abstract
Teacher education is present in all discussions on education, as the successes and failures that reflect on basic education begin in the initial training of teachers, which is concentrated in university education, specifically in their licentiate degree. This assignment refers to a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the perceptions of students graduating from a licentiate degree in Biological Sciences regarding teaching in basic education, aiming to understand the paths that lead to good teaching practice and what would be necessary for these requirements to be met. These data were collected through multiple choice questionnaires and demonstrates that a large number of students do not feel secure or are not decided about their future profession, most of them believe that an improvement in the training course is necessary for a higher quality in their training as a teacher.
