Política, planejamento e gestão do turismo em áreas naturais protegidas: reflexões sobre a APAJ/RN

Abstract

The main objective of this research was to analyze the existing policies in place related to planning and management of tourism activities in the Environmental Protection Area of Jenipabu (APAJ) in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil, as a protected natural space. Construction of this study began by triangulating the conjecture of theory and documents surrounding the topic, as well as participant observation and by linking information from remote sensing and content analysis readily available on the internet. Results indicate that there is still work to be done toward implementing a planning and management policy that considers the existing environmental theory from the last thirty years given that. Although the APAJ has one of the best  normative devices in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, the area still lacks shared and co-responsible tourism management among its representative social stakeholders, for example it continues to lack a tourist visitation program

Maria da Conceição da Paz Silva, IFRN

Licenciada e Bacharela em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Mestre em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). Professora. do Ensino Básico, Técnico e Tecnológico do Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte.

Wilker Ricardo de Mendonça Nóbrega, UFRN

Doutor em ciências do desenvolvimento sócioambiental pelo Núcleo de Altos Estudos Amazônicos - NAEA/UFPA (2012).  Professor do departamento de turismo da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN, campus Natal e do Programa de Pós-graduação em Turismo da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN. Realizou em 2018 um estágio pós doutoral (PNPD/CAPES) no Núcleo de Altos Estudos Amazônicos NAEA / UFPA, com intercâmbio no Crime and Security Research Institute, Cardiff University (Reino Unido).
