Geodiversity and geoproducts relationship for sustainable development in the context of tourism activity
Abstract
The discussion about sustainability based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda is still incipient when it comes to the abiotic resources of the earth. In this sense, considering that the pursuit of these SDGs prevails as a global objective for a better planet for present and future generations, the elements, and practices of geodiversity, as well as geoparks, emerge as a relevant factor for achieving the 2030 Agenda. This study aimed to understand the representation of geodiversity in geoproducts for sustainable development under the perception of local producers in the tourism activity. It refers to a qualitative case study of exploratory nature, with data collection through interviews conducted via Google Meet, using a semi-structured script with local geoproduct producers in the territory of the Seridó Geopark/RN, with content analysis technique for data treatment. As a result, it is understood that the relationship between geodiversity and geoproducts for sustainable development in the context of tourism activity in the geopark territory is in line with the contribution to the objectives and targets of the SDGs of the 2030 Agenda through the participation of the community, which is stimulated to entrepreneurship, bringing local economic growth.
