O tempo no poema "Terra Cunhã", de Eliane Potiguara

This paper aims to discuss the present time in the poem "Terra Cunhã", by Eliane Potiguara, part of the book Metade Cara, Metade Máscara, a testimony of the suffering of the indigenous people – who try to reaffirm their identity after years of struggle –, as well as a translation of the indigenous orality into written language. The poem is the scream of the activist indigenous woman who extols her roots and her ancestors. Through her analysis, we seek to understand the construction of time, especially according to the propositions of Benedito Nunes in his study O tempo na narrativa, highlighting the indigenous woman narrating herself lyrically. We also seek to understand, in the same poem, the representation of the indigenous woman written by an indigenous woman who is an activist for the causes of the native peoples of Brazil.
