Abstract

The text is a translation of the preface to the 3rd edition of Isaak Illich Rubin's (1886-1937) major book, published in 1928 in the former Soviet Union under the title Essays on Marx's Theory of Value. In the Brazilian translations, this preface was not included by the publishers Brasiliense in 1980 and Polis in 1987, under the similar title A Teoria Marxista do Valor (The Marxist Theory of Value). Besides the preface, these Brazilian translations also omit the final part, published especially for the 3rd and 4th Soviet editions, titled Response to Critics. Now, Portuguese-speaking readers will have access to both the preface and the inquiries of the great thinker of the Russian Revolution and Marx's theory of value.

Doutor em filosofia pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo (UNIFESP ) com estadia no Instituto de Filosofia de Moscou - Academia de Ciências da Rússia (Rossiyskaya Akademiya Nauk, RAN). É graduado em filosofia pela Universidade Federal de Alagoas UFAL (2012) e mestre em Filosofia Política pela Universidade Federal de São Paulo - UNIFESP (2012-2014).
