Abstract

This article discusses the urgency of a decolonial action for the present time, at the existential, scientific, ethical and political levels. It starts with a critique of what we call the old Western scientific paradigm to approach the idea of a scienza nuova, which is based on the questioning of classical Western scientific know-how, which no longer supports the ability to shed light on increasingly complex global phenomena. Then, some features of the decolonial scientific-making are presented, pointing out its strengths and some criticisms. It ends by placing it in the Brazilian context.
