Abstract

The aim of this research is to reflect upon the literary practice as a resistance strategy to the silencing faced by black women since colonial times. The woman, while "Another man" (BEAUVOIR, 2008) and the black woman in particular, while "Other of the other" (KILOMBA, 2019), have suffered from historical erasure since the colonization, and have been through various types of violence and oppression, some of which persist to this day. To illustrate our study, we will use the book Citizen second class, by the Nigerian writer Buchi Emecheta (2018), and analyze the different forms of oppression suffered by the character; as theorical basis we used Bell Hooks (2019; 2018), Spivak (2010), Kilomba (2019), Morrison (2019) and Pollak (1989), among others.
