A Special education on physical education undergraduation programs in universities of Mato Grosso do Sul

Abstract

The law in Brazil guarantee the rights to education for the people with disability, however, aspects related to access and permanence are still questioned, as well the process in which Physical Education is part and the professionals indicate initial training as a barrier. Therefore, the aim of this paper was to analyze the subjects based on the discussion of people with disabilities on the Physical Education under graduation programs in Mato Grosso do Sul. The research was characterized as qualitative descriptive. Data collect was made by the documents from both universities and the interview with two professors responsible for the subject. The content analyses was used to categorize the data. The result shows a modification process to organize the subject with the intention to approach places where people with disabilities attend with the purpose to materialize the theoretical with the practice. This modification may corroborate with an initial training that complements the understanding of the physical education professionals of the inclusion process, but indicates, as well, lags that should be consider for this progress.
