ARGUMENTS TO SUBSTANTIATE INTERDISCIPLINARITY

Abstract

This article aims to reflect on an everyday theme. Science, modernity and post-modernity. In this sense, it is an original article and has a speculative character. The thesis defended is that regardless of the emphasis given to thought-reality or language-exteriority, or even, regardless of the discussion between modernity and postmodernity or the acceptance of one of these aspects, it is much more relevant to understand subject and science as a shifting ground without a conformation of the gaze and, in this way, offering perception criteria that go beyond discussions that reduce subject and science to a certain space-context. For this, it focuses on interdisciplinarity to make this discussion. Reflections on interdisciplinarity do not admit rigid boundaries or an arbitrary cut between disciplines. Interdisciplinarity does not bury reason, nor can it be understood only as a way of understanding, doing, practicing or innovating the way of doing science, but making it porous and permeable to disciplinary boundaries so that thought-reality, language-exteriority are absorbed by an understanding-notion of totality. Thus, this article, being unique, proposes that it is from the point of view of interdisciplinarity that we can discuss the crisis of the subject in a universe of choices and the current crisis of science.
