Abstract

This text reflects on the cultural, intellectual, sentimental and political plots and traces transmitted by the life that we can perhaps call the decolonial life of Dr. Domingas Leonor da Silva. The text is a report based on scholarship and highlights the need to preserve and transmit this popular knowledge and lived experience. It emphasizes her influence on the culture of Cuiabá, Mato Grosso, and her social resistance, valuing the riverine culture. The text addresses the multiplicity of their cultural practices, their intellectual symbols, their affective positioning and their political activism, promoting an intergenerational dialogue on the importance of culture and riverine women in society. In the text, we will focus on four points: first, the multiplicity of their existence, including cultural and intercultural practices and the production of culture. Then the symbols and signs in their intellectuality as women. Then her affective and sentimental positioning, and finally Dona Domingas and her attitude of resistance, activism and power of social impact, thus achieving an articulated political space. This short colloquium aims to highlight not only her personal trajectory, but also her influence on the powerful movement of Mato Grosso culture, seeking an intergenerational dialogue on the importance of culture and riverine women for the meaning of our human existence.
