CENTRO MUNICIPAL DE INTERPRETAÇÃO DE LIBRAS DE CAMPO GRANDE – MS NA PERSPECTIVA DOS ESTUDOS CULTURAIS (2021-2024)
Abstract
In Campo Grande (MS) there is a Municipal Libras Interpretation Center (CMILCG) in which it provides assistance to deaf people when scheduling is requested. Campo Grande (MS) has around 7,000 deaf people, these being (hearing impaired), signing deaf and non-signing deaf, as well as oralized deaf and non-oralized deaf), this being the object of study. The question is related to whether the Libras Interpretation Center guarantees the promotion of communication accessibility and the rights of deaf people? In relation to the hypothesis, it is clear that even with the CMILCG, it is still not enough for the rights of these deaf people to be guaranteed, with the experience in the area, the rights and social guarantees of the deaf community are still far from being respected in fact. The methodology used is exploratory, bibliographic and documentary, there is experience of the difficulties that deaf people have faced in order to be understood in places that need such communication in their mother tongue, with the possibility of direct contact with the subject. deaf, their signing culture of the Brazilian Sign Language, as well as the work of the TILSP professional. The general objective is to analyze whether CMILCG is promoting inclusion and accessibility for the deaf community, facilitating communication and full participation in different spheres of Campo Grande society. Despite the legal guarantee, people who are completely or partially deaf still face difficulties in their daily lives, whether in health, in the search for their rights, the job market, justice and wherever communication with these people is necessary.
