Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the role of assistive technologies in the literacy of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), highlighting their impact on school inclusion. By using a qualitative methodology based on a bibliographic review, the research explores how these tools can enhance reading and writing skills as well as promoting social inclusion. The results indicate that assistive technologies transform students into active learners, as noted by Bersch (2007) and others. The study reinforces the importance of these tools for inclusive education, suggesting that effective application can reduce educational barriers and promote equal opportunity. Therefore, assistive technologies are essential for ensuring the inclusion and educational success of students with ASD.
