Uma reescrita da demonstração do Teorema de Pitágoras dada por André Pinto Rebouças

Abstract

The objective of this article is to present a rewrite of the demonstration of the Pythagorean Theorem given by the Brazilian André Pinto Rebouças with the intention of providing a more attractive way to understand this demonstration movement at different levels of study. As a theoretical reference, we used elements from Plane Geometry, starting from the primitive concepts (line, point and Plane), going through line segments, midpoint, angles, parallel lines, perpendicular lines, quadrilaterals, equivalence and area. As a methodological move, we carried out a detailed search in the Digital Newspaper Library to find the article in which the demonstration given by the character was published and, in view of it, we looked for books with mathematical elements that could help us rewrite the demonstration in a more detailed and didactic way. As a result, it was possible to observe that the demonstration given by the Brazilian is based on exclusive elements of plane geometry, and this rewrite helps us to understand in detail and in a didactic way the step by step of the original demonstration.
