Abstract

The article that we present here proposes an action research that makes interdisciplinarity possible in the Portuguese language class, based on the exhibition and analysis of the film As Sufragistas. We observe how this genre allows different readings on the production of meanings in the cinema that would invent the social and political behavior of British women in the struggle for the right to vote. Thus, we are theoretically based on some concepts of the French Discourse Analysis postulate, as well as on the conception of discursive genre by Mikhail Bakhtin (2003), among other authors, and on the contributions of Ivani Fazenda (2015) on the theme of interdisciplinarity, considering relevant to discuss the aforementioned film insofar as it can establish an interdisciplinary dialogue at school. In this sense, the filmic discourse, under the aegis of an interdisciplinary activity in the classroom, can contribute to the construction of a critical sense on the part of its spectators, students and teachers, as a multisemiotic reading resource in elementary and high school. Methodologically, we are guided by a qualitative perspective of an interpretative and documentary nature, and we propose a study of the filmic discourse as a polyphonic object of problematization, resulting from the intertwining of the different voices that support it in the different disciplinary fields.
