Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in forming conscious and critical individuals. This article aims to map productions that discuss the empowerment of black children, focusing specifically on literary literacy strategies with the target audience in the early years of Elementary School. Methodologically, this work has a qualitative approach, configuring itself as a bibliographical review of the state of knowledge type. The database is made up of scientific publications from the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES). With a time frame from 2013 to 2023, the bibliographic review recovered 12 relevant works, only six of which establish direct relationships with the proposed research object. Data analysis revealed the low number of works that focused on researching the empowerment of black children at this stage of basic education. The studies are mostly located in the southeast region, especially in the state of Rio de Janeiro. It was identified that some studies focused on literary literacy strategies are carried out in the final years of Elementary School and High School. Furthermore, the largest number of productions refers to research at master's level; Among these, the majority are methodologically characterized as documentary and bibliographical research. The others are of the action research or intervention type, with different approaches and procedures. Keywords: Empowerment. Literary literacy. State of knowledge.
