Abstract

This research analyzes how teamwork among parents, educators, and therapists can transform the care provided to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Through qualitative interviews, the perceptions and feelings of parents and professionals were examined regarding the challenges faced in support relationships, communication, training, and the support received. The results highlighted negative impacts, as well as significant emotional overload among caregivers and professionals when collective participation is absent. Grounded in Carl Rogers' theories, the research emphasizes the importance of empathy, understanding, active listening, and mindful communication to strengthen bonds, and in the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), focusing on the generalization of skills as a foundation for promoting autonomy and meaningful, continuous learning, emphasizing the importance of team collaboration. It is concluded that building a solid support network, supported by compassionate communication, shared efforts, compassion, and continuous training, is essential to enhance the development of children with ASD and improve the quality of life for all involved.
