Abstract

This study was developed within the scope of the discipline of High Abilities/Giftedness, part of the Specialization in Special Education at UEMS, in Dourados/MS. The main objective is to address the rights of students with High Abilities/Giftedness (AH/SD), based on current legislation, highlighting their characteristics and demystifying the myths and invisibility surrounding this group. The work emphasizes the relevance of continuing education for education professionals as an essential tool to recognize and meet these demands effectively. Based on a bibliographical approach, the analyses point to the importance of promoting visibility and knowledge about the characteristics of these students. Early identification is highlighted as fundamental for the development of pedagogical practices that ensure an inclusive, transformative education aligned with the contemporary needs of students with AH/SD.
