Abstract

This study explores socioemotional education as a key element in students’ development,
proposing a pedagogical intervention at the Sen. Filinto Müller State School to address
challenges such as interpersonal conflicts and low levels of empathy. The intervention
focused on the skill of “respect,” employing active learning methodologies and Kolb’s
experiential learning cycle within an action-research framework. The results indicate a
significant improvement in the school climate, with a reduction in bullying and increased
collaboration among students. The analysis, grounded in the Vygotskian concept of
perezhivanie, highlights the importance of social and emotional experiences in fostering an
inclusive learning environment.
