Abstract

ABSTRACT

This article aims to briefly describe and characterize Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), bringing reflections on its repercussions and connections in the family, school and social life of the individual who has it. For this, Silva (2014) is taken as the main theoretical reference and uses a methodology based on descriptive bibliographical research of a qualitative nature. As a result of the study, the importance of accurate diagnosis and proper conduct of therapeutic treatment stands out, as well as the adoption of pedagogical practices that are in accordance with the needs of students with ADHD. Such referrals are crucial for the success of people with ADHD, as the activation of their potential promotes overcoming the limitations inherent to the disorder. It is essential that this process is based on principles, such as respect and affection.
