Abstract

This essay is a theoretical study on the Professional Development of Teaching (DPD) and the factors that corroborate and encourage it to take effect. Starting from the main concepts and categories associated with DPD, it was sought from a bibliographic research, to reflect the training of teachers beyond the training processes, in the direction of proposing relations with the working conditions and with the precariousness process, highlighting the possible impacts on the DPD. Thus, advances are made in discussions on professional development, as it is understood that other social, historical, political and economic factors are also involved in the constitution of the DPD and the professionalism of teaching. In this way, it leads to reflection, other paths and other horizons for the effectiveness of the DPD, considering not only the formative elements, but the material and working life conditions, in the face of the neoliberal, precarious and denial contexts of education.
