EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL E A CONSCIENTIZAÇÃO A PARTIR DA EDUCAÇÃO PROBLEMATIZADORA

Abstract

Paulo Freire's Problematizing Education starts from immediate reality. It considers the student as the subject of educational action and proposes a radical transformation of thought. The problematizing education starts from the student's existential experience, supported by creativity, stimulating action and reflection, aiming at social transformation. Due to these characteristics of transformations of reality, we believe that Problem-posing Education is ideal as an ally to Environmental Education, as this also aims at transforming the human mentality in relation to environmental quality, since life depends on nature being in balance. The research, besides being qualitative, is also characterized as bibliographical research. The objective of the article was to discuss environmental education based on Paulo Freire's problematizing education as an efficient way to achieve the formation of people who are aware of environmental problems and capable of reflecting and acting in the search for solutions to them. Texts by several authors who deal with Environmental Education in Brazil and texts by Paulo Freire on problematizing education were analyzed based on the Discursive Textual Analysis of Moraes and Galiazzi (2011). In view of this, the discursive textual analysis of the texts demonstrated that the application of Paulo Freire's problematizing education is of great help in the formation of people capable of being aware of environmental problems and capable of reflecting and acting in the search for the solution of such problems.
