The local organization of the object areas of plane figure in the 6th year of elementary school established by a teacher
Abstract
This paper, which presents part of our master's research, aims to model the local organization brought to life by the teacher during the approach of measuring areas of flat figures in the 6th grade of elementary school. For this, we invoke the contributions of the theoretical and methodological aspects of the Anthropological Theory of the Didactics developed by Chevallard (1999) and his collaborators, and we adopted the approach of the area as a measurement in accordance with the theoretical model proposed by Douady and Perrin-Glorian (1989). As a case of a research with a qualitative approach, we used the instruments: video recording and transcription to record the classes dedicated to approach knowledge and due analysis. The results show that the local organization brought to life by the teacher during the teaching of area measurement knowledge focuses on three technologies: figure equivalence, area additivity and rectangular configuration. The results also reveal that the area additivity and the rectangular configuration are used to justify the tiling of plane techniques and the application of formulas to fulfill the tasks of the subtypes: determining the area of the rectangle and determining the area of a figure that can be decomposed into rectangles (square and non-square) respectively.
